Winter Retreat formerly Hot Hearts is a weekend designed to help students and leaders grow in their spiritual walks. You will be challenged with practical breakout sessions that will give you the tools you need to face the obstacles of our modern world. During the weekend, you will experience authentic worship, challenging teaching, & epic fun! Each morning will start with a Leaders Coffee Break & will conclude with a Late Night Hype event. You will leave here refreshed, renewed, & ready to take the Gospel back to your homes, schools & workplaces.
If you are choosing to come to the full event, you should prepare for this as a retreat. You’ll want to pack clothes, toiletries, recreation clothes, your Bible, journal/notebook, a writing utensil, and any other personal items you may need for an overnight trip.
If you are choosing our Day Only Option, come prepared to take notes and bring your bible for the general sessions.
In both cases, the gift shop and snack shack will be open and you can pick up event merch like t-shirts, hoodies, and hats.

Josh Griffin is one of the leading voices in youth ministry with 25+ years experience in the trenches, currently serving as the junior high pastor at Mariners Church and before that the High School Pastor at Saddleback Church. He’s the co-founder of DownloadYouthMinistry.com, YMUniversity.com and heard in 400+ episodes of the DYM Podcast w/Doug Fields. He’s created more than 50 youth ministry resources and authored several books including 99 Thoughts for Small Group Leaders. Josh and his wife Angela have 4 kids, which are now all teenagers!
Fronted by lead singer/songwriter, guitarist Jaren LaGore with her electric violin playing sister Jade LaGore, this sister duo creates a Pop/Rock sound. Backed by all female players, The Band JAREN gives a new and fresh take on the genre using strings and 4 part harmonies. Individually, their accomplishments range from Carnegie Hall performances to winning multiple music awards. Combined with their passion to bring wandering hearts to the Lord in unique and creative arrangements, is a focus on music for their own generation. “The Lord has called us to enter this journey not individually, but together. We can’t wait to see the unfolding of The Band JAREN and all that God will do with this music.” Since 2022, the girls have toured the country playing main stage festivals and bringing in thousands of audience members to their first 12 date Christmas Tour in 2023. They have been named “Artist to Watch” by both CCM Magazine and Today’s Christian Entertainment. With solid lands on playlists such as “New Music Friday” and landing the Cover of Pandora’s “New Christian Music Now” playlist, the girls are set to release all brand new music for 2024. Playing all main stages on their summer tour, they have been the talk of the festival circuit! In addition, they will resume their Christmas tour for 2024 and will continue their tour across the country starting in January 2025!
